AUDIENCE FEEDBACK ON OUR VIDEO SO FAR

We got some audience feedback of our first minute draft. Although we are aware that there are a number of changed that need to be made it’s still important to get feedback on how well we are progressing. The following things were pointed out
- It was felt that the balance of the narrative and performance element had shifted that was good despite this we had shifted to much in favour of the artist and now need to try and split it more evenly between performance and narrative.
- It’s felt that we had edited the DJ’s performance far more effectively and this was a major improvement. The use of effects and his performance had made our music video look more professional and definitely helped sell our artists image as a dance act.
- It was felt that some of the gym performance looked amatueur in comparison and therefore we needed to focus more on editing this to blend in the performance element. Perhaps the use of freeze frames was suggested so that when the DJ was firing the arrow it then froze on the person in the narrative. As this would be clear how they were being affected.
- It was suggested now that the colour corrections had made our narrative look a lot better and a lot more 80s which was in keeping of what we were after and more like GLOW which is what we are after. We had to show the audience the trailer from glow but once they saw the trailer they spotted the connection.

Our plans now
- We need to make sure that there is an even split between performance and narrative.
- We need to add a few more effects on the performance element and the narrative to mask the fact that we have decided to take out one of the narrative strands of the girls competing for his love. If we can do this then this will give our music video a visual flair that it’s currently lacking. We’ve been advised to use freeze frames and a bit more slow motion to emphasis how the girls are sexualising themselves to appeal to the guys.
